I have been having a great week. So great, that I haven't even had time to update the blog. At least I don't wait over a month between blog entries (Aaron!) but I still apologize to all my loyal readers for the lack of updates.
I finally saw Land of the Lost, and I was not as bad as the media made it out to be. There were enough good laughs (mostly from Danny McBride) to completely justify seeing the movie. A lot of people are down on Will Farrell, I think mostly because he chooses to go with a safer form of comedy (and who could blame him, right?), but I think we need someone like Will Farrell to do a more mainstream style of comedy. Everyone wants to do anti-comedy, myself included, but what makes anti-comedy so special is that it is different than the mainstream. If Will Farrell were to become an anti-comic, not only would he blow every other anti-comedian out of the water (admit it, he would), but he would drag anti-comedy into the mainstream, thus making it mainstream comedy. The reason we can have guys like Zach Galifianakis and Michael Ian Black is that they are able to float under the radar by staying away from the mainstream. Basically what I am saying is that Will Farrell is good for comedy.
Yes, my title is an Electric Six reference, but after beginning to write, I can't remember why I put it. Fire in the disco, fire in the, gates of hell.
